One of the most common reason women choose to become a surrogate is because they have had first-hand experience with infertility through close family and/or friends. People who need a surrogate cannot have a biological child any other way, and you can be the one who makes that dream come true for them. You’re giving loving people the chance to start a family of their own when they’re incapable of doing so themselves.

Watching someone you care about go through the surrogacy journey can be an inspiring experience. Some women who support their friends throughout the surrogacy process learn what a difference a single selfless person can make in the lives of others and became motivated to do the same as a result.

Some women simply glow throughout their pregnancies. While many women couldn’t imagine being pregnant more times than they have to, surrogates have a special connection to pregnancy and often feel their best when carrying a child, whether that be for their own family or someone else’s.

While the sole reason for participating in a surrogacy journey is not and should not be the money, it is an added benefit and incentive to surrogacy. Total compensation packages can be as high as $45,000-$50,000 for surrogate candidates through Pathways to Parenthood.
