Selecting An Egg Donor in Kansas City
March 1, 2014When selecting an egg donor, there are several important points to consider. Before you start the donor selection process, it is important for you and your partner to consider what your preferences are, and what qualities mean the most to you.
This process is easier when you and your partner have answered the following questions:
- Do you wish to use an anonymous donor or a known donor?
- What physical characteristics are most important to you?
- What medical history information is most compatible with your own family’s history?
- What personality characteristics are most important to you?
- Does the donor’s location matter to you? Local donors can save thousands of dollars eliminating high travel costs and higher donor and agency fees.

Why Are There Age Limits for Egg Donors In Kansas City?
February 13, 2014To apply to Pathways To Parenthood’s Egg Donation Program, a woman must be within the age range of 21-29. This is typical of the criteria for most egg donation programs in the United States. It is important for potential egg donors and intended parents to understand why that range is used.
The reason 21 is the youngest age requirement is that younger women don’t always understand the commitment and importance of what they are agreeing to. It is important that egg donors fully understand what they are committing to including the actual donation process, and the long term implications of donating their eggs.
At the other end of the age spectrum, a woman begins to experience a decline in her fertility at the age of 30. By the time that a woman is 32 years old, her fertility has begun to drop around 3-5% per year. There is a variation among women, but that is the average. It is ideal to utilize a donor whose fertility has not been compromised by age, therefore the age cut-off for most programs is 29.

Pathways To Parenthood Egg Donors In Kansas City Help Give Hope To Families In Need
February 6, 2014When Pathways To Parenthood opened for business in May of 2013, our hopes were to be able to connect quality egg donor candidates and families that were in need of an egg donor to build and grow their family. After years of working as a licensed counselor with women and couples that struggled with the emotional pain of infertility, I understand the hope using an egg donor to attempt conception gives those who need the help of others to build and grow their family. I personally witnessed the joy people experienced when finally realizing their dreams of becoming parents, due in large part to the generous gift of an anonymous young woman who was willing to be their egg donor.
We are happy and excited to say that the first family that conceived using a Pathways To Parenthood egg donor is about to have a baby! The joy that we feel knowing we were able to help a family realize their dream of becoming parents pales in comparison to the joy I know they will be feeling on the birth day of their long awaited child. My hope is that we can help many more families realize their dreams in 2014 and beyond. Breaking Down The Egg Donation Process in Kansas City
January 28, 2014Deciding that you will use an anonymous egg donor to build and grow your family is a big decision. It typically comes after experiencing years of failed attempts to conceive a child, and many disappointments and frustrations. It can be exhilarating at first to learn that utilizing an egg donor to build your family is even an option for you. And then comes all the rest…
What follows for most couples after the initial excitement after making the decision to use an egg donor, is the simple yet big question, “What next?” If you are like most people, you start by doing research and gathering information. If you have already begun the information gathering process about using an egg donor to build your family, the initial emotions of exhilaration and excitement have likely been replaced by confusion and uncertainty. When that happens it is important to take a deep breath and do what you do with any other big project or important life goal you have had before-break it down into smaller, manageable steps.
There are many steps in the process, but you can and should take it one step at a time. To learn more about building and growing your family through egg donation, contact Pathways To Parenthood today!
