See What Our Surrogates Have to Say

Learn from the experiences of families, surrogates, and egg donors who have helped build families through this process.

Meet Our New Surrogate Support Specialist Annie McCabe

Annie McCabe

We are beyond excited to have Annie join our surrogacy agency. Annie is an experienced (two time) Pathways To Parenthood surrogate who has a passion for surrogacy that she wishes to continue sharing with others. Her personal surrogacy journeys were a very special time in her life, and she understands from those experiences how important and helpful it can be to have a good surrogate support system. Annie decided that joining Pathways To Parenthood Surrogacy Agency as a Surrogate Support Specialist would be a great way for her to continue her work in surrogacy.

We think Annie is the perfect addition to the Pathways To Parenthood Surrogacy Agency team, AND the perfect person to help launch our new Surrogate Support Program. This program was born (pun intended!) out of our desire as surrogacy professionals to offer the best care and support for our awesome surrogates.

There will be more information coming soon about the Surrogate Support Program. Right now, we would like to tell you a little more about Annie!

About Annie …

Annie was born and raised in a small town in Missouri near the Iowa border. She has been married to Brian for 16 years and has two sons that are 15 years old and 13 years old. Annie currently lives in Kearney, Missouri with her husband and sons. She has worked at a dental office for many years handling front office duties as well as insurance matters, AND she has been an amazing surrogate twice in the past 7 years!

Annie first started thinking about surrogacy in 2010 when she met a woman that was pregnant as a surrogate with twins!  She was struck by the feeling of awe and amazement that someone would do something like that for someone else. Annie immediately became interested in possibly becoming a surrogate herself.  At the time, Annie was raising two young boys and the timing wasn’t right for her. A few years later, Annie met someone else that sparked her interest in surrogacy once again.  More about that later! Stay tuned for future blog posts about Annie’s surrogacy journeys. She will be sharing all of that and more as she embarks upon her newest journey as Pathways To Parenthood’s Surrogate Support Specialist.  We will be launching our new Surrogate Support Program in the near future so check back soon to learn more.

Patience And The Surrogacy Process

You may be a generous, giving woman that has recently decided to become a surrogate.  Or you may be ready to be parents that decided to begin the surrogacy process to grow your family. Both starting points are filled with excitement and optimism of beginning something that leads to a dream come true for everyone involved.

The end of the surrogacy process for women who become surrogates and parents to be is truly a beautiful and special time.  The path to get to that special time is filled with many steps, processes, procedures, requirements, and potentially delays and setbacks.  That is where patience comes in.  Patience is not something that most of us are very good at unless we focus our efforts to be patient. Or be more patient.  In addition, most of us also do not like to hear that we need to be patient. Or be more patient.  But having patience with the surrogacy process will allow you to be able to persevere through all of the steps, processes, procedures, requirements and any delays or setbacks.  Because in the end, it will be worth it.

One important way to help yourself be more patient with the surrogacy process is to know what to expect during your journey.  A surrogacy agency will be able to explain the surrogacy process in detail which will ensure that your expectations are realistic.  Also, a surrogacy agency will be able to provide the framework for all steps in the surrogacy process, including delays and setbacks so that you have an expert working with you side by side helping you navigate as efficiently as possible.

Having a good support system will also help you be more patient during the surrogacy process. A surrogacy agency can offer you support throughout your journey; however it is important to find multiple areas of support. Take good care of yourself.  Get good sleep, eat a healthy diet, and exercise.  The better you feel physically and mentally, the better equipped you will be to manage the surrogacy process well by being patient with yourself and others.

Pathways To Parenthood Surrogacy Agency can help you get started today! We can answer your questions about the surrogacy process, so you know what to expect and how to get started.  Contact us to schedule a consultation appointment. We can help you like we have helped many other surrogates and future parents in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, Ohio and Kentucky. We look forward to hearing from you!

Helping People Build Their Families Through Surrogacy & Egg Donation

I am the owner of Pathways To Parenthood. We are an egg donor and surrogacy
agency located in the Midwest. We have helped grow families all over the United
States. And some outside of the United States. Most of our intended parents,
surrogates and egg donors live in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas,
Illinois and Colorado.

Someone recently asked me what the most challenging or difficult part of working
in the surrogacy agency/egg donor agency business is for me. I would like to
share my thoughts and feelings about this topic as they have given me a renewed
sense of commitment and joy for the work that I do to help others. I hope that it
can somehow benefit anyone that is considering becoming a surrogate or egg
donor, or considering becoming a parent through surrogacy and/or egg donation.

The most challenging and difficult part of my daily work is to hear people’s stories
of disappointment, loss, and ongoing struggles to grow their family. It is not the
stories that make it most difficult for me, even though it makes me sad to hear
them. It is my overwhelming desire to instantly give them what they need to help
them realize their dream to become parents. Even though I am able to offer them
the help they may need to realize their dreams to become parents, of course
there is nothing instantaneous about it! It is not that my intended parents expect
instant results, it is my admittingly impossible to accomplish desire to be able to
do that for them that makes it difficult for me.

Ironically, the most difficult aspect of the work that I do also offers me the
greatest satisfaction and joy. When intended parents reach out to a surrogacy
agency or egg donor agency like Pathways To Parenthood, they are in great need
of assistance in building and growing their family. Oftentimes, in addition to the
painful or difficult history they bring , they are also bringing hope that they can
find the help they need with us. And that is where the most difficult part of my
work intersects with the most wonderful parts of what I get to do every day.

Given I have worked as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in reproductive
health and infertility for twenty years, had personal struggles with infertility and
infertility treatments, and owned and operated a surrogacy agency and egg donor
agency for 8 years, I am able to offer those who reach out to us for help,
knowledge and information based in training, experience, and compassionate
care! No matter where someone is on their journey, I am able to meet them
where they are, and help them along with where they want to go. That is a
wonderful part of the work I do! Knowing that I have helped many along their
way to become parents, and that I have the opportunity every day to help others
in their present state, and in their future, is very important to me.

In addition, the fact that there are incredibly special women who are willing to
help others by being an egg donor or surrogate AND that have also decided to be
a part of Pathways To Parenthood’s programs, gives me the amazing opportunity
to help connect intended parents to them. It takes a lot of time and energy to
locate, screen and prepare women to become a surrogate or egg donor. But it is
time and energy well spent knowing what I am working for, and who I am working
for.

The path to parenthood for our intended parents is not an easy one. But at the
end of it all, the long dreamed for family becomes a reality. And I am privileged
and honored to be a part of that happy ending. I am grateful for the work that I
do, in spite of the challenges and difficulties that come along with it. Because in
the end, it is wonderful to see our parents’, surrogate’s and egg donor’s dreams
come true!
